KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 26 mm, 17.29 g, 10 h), Amphipolis, struck under Kassander as regent, circa 316-311. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle with closed wings in right; to left, grain ear; below throne, pellet within Π. Price 130. Sharply struck on sound metal and with a Zeus of unusually fine style and high relief. Very minor die rust on the obverse, otherwise, virtually as struck.
